Facebook & Chrome: Remove the new facebook photo viewer lightbox

If you are one of the many that get pissed off when facebook tweaked or changed something on their site, or each time they change something, like over 9000 groups came out and want them to change/revert back, but you know they never did.
So… you either need to live with it, of you read my blog post :D

For those of you who is using Chrome as your main browser, here is a solution for you.
Steve Gilbertson did this chrome plugin which let you see no more black box or the new facebook picture frame lah.

Install this and say bye bye to the black frame photo viewer…..

If you are not using Chrome, im sure firefox got this kind of extension too. But i dont bother to search for you. Sorry.
But there is some work around that i had been using before this,
1. Refresh the page (F5) after the page is loaded
2. Open the photo page in new tab (Crtl + click)

Erm, not sure how much of readers still uses IE, come on…
But i got to see, IE 9 might be nice, but i havent tried it yet :D

Facebook: Stalkers Rejoice! “Break Up Notifier” save your 5 hours of going through all your friend’s friends profile (or not)

FACT: Most of my friends that live their life on facebook, most of them spent their time “stalking” their friends, or their friend’s friends profile.
Well, do except 2% of them who still so stuck into those facebook games… farmville? Nope, no longer the 1st game, cityville is now the hit.
I think those 2% of my friends that do cityville every hour, is working for zynga without getting paid, wait, you get paid by getting a city that is not even real! but Zynga getting million dollers from each of you each year by looking at the ads they serve

Whats the 98% of them do?
From my observation, 20% of them dont even sign in to their account regularly (at least i do) and the 70% working for facebook (without getting paid again) and the other 8% is using ad blocker.

You know how i know this? Is just because while Chinese New Year Gathering, what we do is gossip about other friends that wasnt with us, and trying to catch up with that they had been doing, and my stalker friends always can give me the answer i want.
And when house visiting, the following things happened:
Boring + Internet + Laptop = Start stalking people’s picture on facebook, commenting is this guy/girl lengchai/lenglui or not, etc etc.

Watson VS Human @ Jeopardy!

If you didnt know the big news (in the tech world at least, since i dont read other news other than those are tech related :P ), Watson, an artificial intelligence program developed by IBM designed to answer questions posed in natural language. (wiki) had won human on the Jeopardy! ,an American quiz show featuring trivia in a wide range of topics.
Watson won big, but think back, human won it anyway, since those genius folks at IBM build that piece of software.

Its amazing watching the show, for those of you who havent catch the show, there is a torrent links at the end of the post.
I like they do have some facts and introduction to Watson and the team behind it. Its so amazing to see the technology had evolved to the extend that machine not only can understand single words but also human natural language, a lot of tricky questions too!
So whats next on computer technology or AI in more specific.
I think this time IBM did already built the skynet….. isnt it?
Guess the end of the world is coming soon…
